Joe and I went to Clear Fork Reservoir today and arrived there about 7 am. It was a bright sunny day and when we first got there, there was hardly a breeze. The water temperature was 72 and after a couple of hours the wind started to pick up. The water isn’t crystal gin clear but it is pretty nice and looks clean. It is a lake known for Musky.

I caught the first bass on a 4′ watermelon and white Yum Dinger, fishing it weedless wacky rigged (thanks Bill) within 10 minutes of fishing. Joe hooked one right by the boat but didn’t get it in. Then he caught several by the islands and then we fished the South shore of the lake and we caught some more bass there.

There was a bass tournament there and from what I understand the big bass weight 3 pounds and some odd ounces, a little less than 4 lbs. We caught some that were that big. All of the bass we caught were from 2 pounds to 3 pounds something, none real big but none real small either. They had a pretty good belly on them and fought pretty good for their size.

The is an 8 mph speed limit on the lake and of course bu shore a no wake zone. We had a very good time and can recommend the lake for a fun trip!
